Amazing Summer -Sykesville-
We can’t get enough summer fun here at our school! We love to create art work on canvas:). One time we painted with puff paint and another time, we melted crayons and watched as the wax dripped down the canvas mixing lots of colors! Did you know you can tie dye shirts with bleach?! Ours turned out pretty cool! We used clay and plaster to cast fossils of flowers and leaves, then enjoyed painting them:). We had a blast pouring paint on canvas that we swayed from side to side to blend the paints…In the process, we created dolphins, Easter eggs and a lot more:). Our solar oven is the coolest thing ever!! One time, we used it to bake apple strudel made with phyllo dough that we brushed with butter and rolled with chopped apples, cinnamon and sugar…On the side, we had some delicious dates smoothie:). Another time, we used it to make poached pears with ginger and nutmeg:). They smelled so good! We mashed the ginger with a mortar and pestle and grated whole nutmegs by ourselves:). The pear and blueberries smoothie we had that day was delicious:). It traced purple mustaches along our lips! Have you seen our cool marbleizing artwork we created with oil paint and water?! Want to know how we decorated sea shells with melted crayons?! First, we heated the shells with a hot air gun then went over them with crayons. It was mesmerizing to watch the crayons melt and drip to cover the shells!
