LEARNING ABOUT MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. AND OUR PRESIDENTS!

We learned that Martin Luther King Jr. was a peace maker and a great leader.

To celebrate him, we baked yummy cookies and made a special picture for him!!! We also learned about George Washington, our first president. We listened to his famous cherry tree fable and got to paint it too:). We made our own hoe cakes and had them with tea, the same way Washington ate his breakfast...It was fun, fun, fun!!!

A PEEK INTO OUR CLASSROOM!

Come and see all the fun things we do in the classroom:). Our chickens gave us all the eggs that you see!!! Isn't that cool?!

OUR PLAYGROUND IS A LOT OF FUN!!!

Our playground has a lot of fun things to do.

We can play in the sand box, cook in the mud kitchen, weave with items from nature, make-up our own games and do a lot of pretend play:). In the winter, we play in the snow and in the summer, we sun bathe and play in the water!

BIRDS ARE SO COOL!!!

The children had a blast learning all about birds, their eggs, feathers and body parts.

They made footprints out of plaster and painted them. The bird nest snacks the children made out of noddles and chocolate eggs, were so YUMMY!!! Did I mention learning about John Audubon, the artist who loved to draw birds!

Making Beeswax Candles!

The children enjoyed making beeswax candles for the holidays! Learning about bees was so much fun!

A Trip to Peru!

Miss Maria's motherland!

Miss Maria's motherland is Peru! She was happy to share her heritage with the children who made ethnic snacks, wore Peruvian traditional clothes, danced to Peruvian music, etc...What a fun experience!

Happy Thanksgiving 2015!

We sailed back to 1621 to celebrate!

The pilgrim children greeted their Native American parents with roses before singing a beautiful song about the story of Thanksgiving. Everybody enjoyed a home-made feast afterwards. It was a beautiful day!

We Have a Zen Garden!

Discover our new addition!

Did you know we have a Zen Garden here at our school? We built it so our children can enjoy what this marvelous meditation experience has to offer them.

Zen Gardens or Japanese Rock Gardens are ancient outdoor rituals that represent different soothing elements in our environments. The sand patterns that the children rake around their rock formations, resemble ripples of water. In the process, the children's concentration is enhanced while their minds are relaxed. Our Zen Garden is also a place for our children to practice Yoga, which positively affects their physical fitness and emotional nourishment, thus helping create calm, compassionate, strong and resilient young individuals. The children may also enjoy doing their work in the Zen Garden. How wonderful!
